20/11/13: Rooted Beauty New Releases

A little while back, I did a post about a company called Rooted Beauty.  I was so impressed by their company and how they put money from each of their purchases towards helping women across the world that I bought a lip balm trio to try out.  At the time, they were just starting to expand their line and had launched their Raspberry Citrus Facial wipes - which sound like they smell great and are bio-degradeable to boot (although I know quite a few people avoid wipes on their face where possible).

But if you are a no-wiper, you can still get in on the brand spanking new product excitement, as Rooted Beauty are just on the cusp of releasing two new items in their online shop:  Mango Passion Facial Cleanser and Mango Passion Facial Moisturiser.

Mango Passion Facial Cleanser (RRP Canadian $9.99 ~ £6.00) is decked out in the same bright colours as the lip balms, which I love. Plus it's packed with a whole host of natural extracts and it's a reasonable price for what seems like a reasonably green ingredient list.  Looking at the contents I would be interested to see what sort of consistency this has, as I don't expect it to be overly thick.  Currently, the cleanser is linked to Rika and will help her develop her cooking skills in order to provide for herself and young child.

Mango Passion Facial Moisturiser (RRP Canadian $14.99 ~ £9.00) is the second product, interestingly in the same scent as the cleanser.  It looks like it's packaged in an airless pump, and is fully recyclable.  It contains an ingredient that I've not come across before, called Thanaka, which is supposed to clear, smooth and cool skin.  Currently it's linked to Jana, whose husband unexpectedly committed suicide, leaving her with two children.  As a member of the lowest caste she never received an education, so the money will help improve her run-down hut but also give her the opportunity to train in college housekeeping.

Quite often when searching around for new products, I come across a few items that have similar formulations - however, although I've seen lots of cream(?) facial cleansers I don't feel like I've seen ones with so many oils and extracts in.  Initially I was a bit taken aback by the length of the lists, but reading through them, it appears that there are very few ingredients I look at and don't immediately understand.  Whether they are all there for the scent, consistency, texture or skin benefits, it's certainly an interesting combination and I'll be looking forward to seeing what people think of them.

Will you be pre-ordering some Mango Passion?

    1. I think so! :) Some of the stories (all of them really...) are horrendous, so it's good to know that some of the money from the sale is going towards helping them. Hopefully making lives a little bit easier too. x
