Bodhi beautiful

With the announcement that Bodhi are rebranding from Monday 12 May to become Bodhi and Birch (read Ana's post here for more information) I thought it was about time that I featured a few of the Bodhi products that I've been using.

As I mentioned in my skincare routine, I have been using the Desert Rose Revitalising Facial Oil since winning it last year in a competition held by Ana.  Of all the products I have tried, I think this one is definitely top of the list.  It smells amazing, sinks into my skin and leaves it feeling soft, smooth and supple.  I love love LOVE it. It is definitely the most expensive element of my skincare, but I will be repurchasing the moment it runs out as I don't think my routine would be the same without it!

When I mentioned in the post above that although I loved this oil I was curious to try the Neroli Luce due to my acne, I was very kindly treated by Elijah (Bodhi's founder) to a bottle to try out.  Neroli Luce Revitalising Facial Oil* is a very different oil to the Desert Rose, not least because of the Sea Buckthorn it contains giving it a bright orange appearance.  I've been using this in place of the Desert Rose in the mornings and the tinge of colour helps me to look a little more awake!  As you would expect from Bodhi and Elijah, the scent is again fantastic; slightly spicy and definitely a little aromatic pick me up in the early mornings.   To me it feels slightly thicker than the Rose but spreads just as easily across the skin.   Because of the colour payoff, it is best to use it across the whole face, rather than in specific patches.

In terms of which one I prefer, for my skin the Desert Rose wins.   I find that the Luce doesn't always sink into my skin like the Rose does and although I struggle with acne, the overall dryness of my face responds to the Desert Rose in a fantastic way that means it just edges out the Neroli Luce.  I really like the Luce, but I'm not as fanatical about it as the Desert Rose.  However, both have their following in the blogger community and there are plenty who would choose the other way around!

Next up, another brilliantly orange product - Cacao Cocoon*!  I was generously sent this by Elijah last year and it's been in my lipcare rotation since.  It's a thinner balm than others in my collection but one that I reach for for a little soothing.   I've had a dry patch on my lips over the last few days and so I've been using this exclusively - by today it's calming down and seems to be healing.

The scent is hard to describe, and it definitely wasn't quite what I was expecting.  My mother described it as being like bubblegum (!) and I can see where she's getting that from as there are hints of mint that come through the chocolate scent, along with a tinge of vanilla.  It's something a bit different from your average balm and has really come into its own in the last few days in treating my poorly lips.

I still have a few products to comment on, but these are the ones that are currently getting the most frequent use.  I honestly wish that blogger had scent-vision because I don't feel like I'm able to really describe how great these smell.  The individual elements of each merge together to create scents that smell great at first sniff but also have depth.

As part of the re-branding, lots of the current range and packaging can be found for a reduced price on various sites including on their own site here and other sites like Sophia's Choice.  Cacao Cocoon for example is just £10.50 at the moment, reduced from £15.00. If you have been on the verge of trying this artisan skincare it's a perfect time to give them a go.

Based on my experience of the range I'm very excited to see what other products are in store for Bodhi and Birch.  For a little taster, be sure to follow them on twitter with their new handle!

Have you tried any of the above?
Or perhaps you have another Bodhi product on your most used/most lusted list?

  4. I love love love Neroli Luce, I haven't tried Desert Rose but my skin seems to love Luce so I'm going to stick to that for now I think. I also love Cacao Cacoon, mine seems to be slightly less thick since it melted though!

    1. That's interesting that the melting changed the composition. I do regularly melt mine (by accident) so perhaps that has made a difference? Although I don't remember it being that thick to start with! x
