23/02/15: Ten minutes with... Amber's Beauty Talk

Amber's Beauty Talk is a blog that I've read since I saw her review on the Babyliss Curl Secret - having "lively" hair that won't quite do straight I loved the idea of a tool that seems so simple. Anyway, I came for the hair and stayed for the green beauty!

Amber is a regular blog/vlogger who is very active in the green beauty blogger sphere and regularly dishes out reviews on great green beauty finds known and unknown. I've met her twice now, once on the Field Trip and more recently in Reading, and she's as brilliant in person as she is online. Amber was one of my first choices for this series, so I hope you enjoy reading her answers!

Last thing you do at night?
Probably tweet…oops!

Your top tip for being happy and healthy?
Do things that make you happy. I often get stuck in a strop over something little or I moan about doing something I don’t want to do. If you don’t want to do something, or you know it won’t make you happy, don’t do it!

Which brands/bloggers/people inspire you?
All of the green beauty brands inspire me. They create products that are not only great for our skin but also for the environment and our health…what’s more inspiring than that?!

All of the green blogger girls inspire me too! I love you all! :D

Your favourite TV series?
At the minute I love Scandal. Love love love it. I’m dreading the day it finishes because I’ve watched a few series now and hated the endings *cough* Dexter *cough* Breaking Bad *cough*

The product you wish you'd invented?
Ooohh great question! Probably the OSKIA Renaissance Gel Cleanser…because then I could make it myself for a fraction of the price ha!

Your favourite skincare item?
Hmmm….this is a hard one! I can’t name just one….Lyonsleaf Beauty Balm and Bodhi & Birch Neroli Luce Oil are two products my skin love.

Your favourite cosmetic item?
I love a good lipstick…I’d probably choose Delizioso Skincare Lychee Crisp lipstick!

Your guilty pleasure?
Dark Chocolate…lots of it.

Favourite book?
Ooh this is a hard one because I haven’t been doing much reading lately! The latest book I’ve read was The Fault in Our Stars but then it got ruined when I watched the film because 13 year old girls were crying hysterically…..ugh!

Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog as I was a Neal’s Yard consultant and that is how I discovered about green beauty and the nasties in mainstream products. I loved talking about the products at the parties and thought I’d start sharing my new discoveries on a blog!

The proudest and/or most exciting moment you've had in running your blog?
Ooooooh every time I get an e-mail from a brand asking to review their product or a blogger asking for recommendations I get really excited! The most exciting moments have been meeting other green bloggers and brands!

You can also find Amber on her YouTube channel, Twitter and Instagram - go spend some more time with her! :)  You can also find her hosting the Twitter #greenchat on Sunday evenings.

  1. Aww, the lovely Amber :) Really must get to meet you this year xx

  2. This is a lovely interview. I'll have to try the Oskia Renaissance Gel Cleanser, Lyonsleaf Beauty Balm, and the Bodhi & Birch Luce Oil. Also, The Fault in Our Stars was lovely and relatable, and it was not the love story that was the element I enjoyed most. I waited until it the movie was available on Netflix to watch it.

    1. Ah, I do like Netflix. Is that UK or US? I will have to see if I can watch it. :) Glad you enjoyed - Amber is an excellent interviewee! x

  3. aaaa nice post!! :) I love reading Amber xx

  4. Yay thank you for including me in your interview series! :) xx

  5. Great post.

  6. Loved this post and learning about some of your faves and thoughts :):)
