23/09/16: Glory Boon Heal & Conceal

Like many people, I have the curse of the dark under eyes and I'm often on the lookout for a natural concealer that will help cover them up without looking orange, without creasing and without too much effort.

(Taken before the packaging started to fade!)

I think I first heard about Glory Boon from Smells Like a Green Spirit, where Liz had purchased the colour correction set. Before this I had never bought anything from Etsy other than stickers, so I was very interested to see what their make up was like.  The product that stood out most was their Heal and Conceal Concealer. It looked a bit dark but it was supposed to blend with my skin tone as well as offer some healing properties when used on zits and imperfections.

The tube will be familiar to anyone that has used Hurraw; a small oval tube with a twist up bottom. The packaging was cute when it first arrived but almost a year later and it's worn off quite drastically. From what I can recall, it didn't take long for it to start fading.

The colour looks scary to start with. On first glance it definitely didn't look like it would cover up anything but rather accentuate.  However, I tried it out and was suitably impressed. As such by the time I am now writing this review I have almost finished the tube and it's time to buy a shiny new one!  I don't often finish products, so for this to have stuck with me to the end is quite a feat.

The texture is hard, but softens with application to the skin. For this reason if I have time I like to apply it under my eyes straight from the tube, walk around for a while whilst it softens and then come back to blend. I don't often have the time to do this though and it does seem to work just as well applying with a brush.

After (RHS only)

The colour is supposed to match all skin tones. I think all would be a stretch - but for the pale to fairly pale, it probably will blend quite well.  On the above photos I have only concealed on the right hand side, and as you can see it doesn't hide all the imperfections there but it takes my skin colour from looking like I've been punched to almost normal.  I usually apply this before foundation, so I do get an extra little coverage from that too.

(One swipe, half blended out at the top - in direct sunlight)

For a tube it currently costs £9.39 and shipping is around £10.00.  Last time it was around £7 and £6 respectively due to exchange rates a year ago, but I'm almost to the end of this tube (almost unheard of!) and will be repurchasing!
